When I was a kid, the last thing I ever dreamed of doing when I grew up was sell blinds and window shades. I had no idea such an industry even existed. And yet here I sit, listening to complaints, day in and day out, about blinds. Out of every 20 phone calls, ten will be neutral, a casual thanks for doing your job. 9 out of the remaining ten will be hot as hell about it, but half of those might tell you "I know it's not your fault", while the other half will be compelled to tell you your company's customer service sucks, even though the issue is likely NOT the fault of customer service. 1 out of those 20 might actually thank you for your help and tell you that you're good and doing a good job. The PTB's tell you not to take it personally, that it's your job. But it's hard, really hard, to listen to so much negativity over and over again, and not get disheartened.
I should have called DeVry back last year. I should call them now. There has to be a better life than this.
hmmmmmmmm I went to DeVry and look where I am now.... *blinks* not working a nice glamorous (and ever so slightly frustrating) life of web design!
