A smile as bright as the sun...

Today at work was as wretched as could be. Coming home was traffic laden. Someone stole Rick's laundry basket. So, yeah, I was cranky as fuck today. And stuck at a traffic light less than a mile from home which wouldn't change...
Rolling down the hill, a young woman, in a motorized wheelchair. Toes curled sideways in the fashion of any one of a number of ways to find yourself partially paralyzed and in a chair. The young woman sparked no more interest than any other human, beyond barreling through the crosswalk without a particularly green walk signal.

Then she crossed where I was sitting.

This girl, features sculpted from Asian heritage, rolled past my idling car...and smiled.

In that one moment, she changed from a random person in a wheelchair...to the most beautiful woman on this earth. No supermodel could have matched her loveliness. That smile, was cast from pure sunshine and joy. It infused her whole face, and my entire being. I couldn't help but smile right back, and be glad that, thanks to a malfunctioning traffic light, I shared a moment of joy and beauty with this special, lovely girl.
