Since when does less than 300 confirmed cases worldwide constitute a pandemic?? Even though the CDC was advising caution and not panicking over this, the WHO has upgraded it to a Level 5 Pandemic, one level below the last point before they upgrade it from pandemic to epidemic. A whopping 8 people have died from this thing. What's the last world census?
At work today, we had an "emergency meeting", during which they gave us little bottles of hand sanitizer and told us that if we run a fever or start vomiting, we'll be sent home until a doctor says we do NOT have H1N1 influenza A (you can't call it Swine Flu, Egypt's slaughtering innocent piggies needlessly). Mind you, we don't have any PTO, they took that away to save money. But we have to go home if we sneeze.

This shit is nothing more than Mother Nature attempting to reassert control over the ecosystem and restore the balance. We practice irresponsible breeding, we spends billions perfecting Coke and Pepsi and making seat warmers in Cadillacs, while millions of people worldwide live in total squalor with more kids than common sense, or food or medicine or sanitation to care for them. So when you have an ecosystem that has become this overpopulated and corrupted, Nature has to restore the balance and bring shit under control, so she does what she does best...she kills them off with diseases. And they're all variations of the same damned one, Influenza, only we keep curing her plagues, so she keeps mutating them, and eventually we're all going to get Captain Tripps (Wikipedia that) and die a horrible death while Mother Nature sits back with a buttered muffin and laughs her fucking ass off.
This is SARS and the bird flu all over again. This world needs a good epidemic I say. I have a strong immune system...I'll probably survive. Survival of the fittest man.
