I'm so unbelievably excited!! I got to ride today, a really wonderful horse that could someday be mine!!!! My ass hurts and my legs are sore, but it's worth it, to have a horse for ME.
For the past two years, I've been lugging my daughter to the barn to ride her horses, and I've sat there and watched everyone ride, and it's almost hurt some days to be there and not have anything to do but watch. I love horses so much, even more than dragons (it's that whole actually being real part), and I've wanted this for years. Now I have the chance at this beautiful big Shire cross mare to myself, and she's so beautiful, and sweet, and oh so patient with me. When the blanket got hung up on her ear, and she just stood there quietly while I sorted it out, I knew she was the horse for me. For ME this time.
I'll be dreaming of horses tonight, and this time, I won't wake up sad.
